Today it's all about a healthy snack that you can prepare quickly and easily at home: granola bars! These vegan bars are free from eggs, butter, milk and processed sugar, making them the perfect choice for an energy-rich snack between meals. They are also rich in vitamin B, which has numerous health benefits.
Why Vitamin B is so Important
Vitamin B is a group of vitamins that play a central role in metabolism and energy production. In particular, vitamins B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (niacin), B6 (pyridoxine), B7 (biotin) and B12 (cobalamin) are essential for healthy nervous system function, skin health and immune system support. Our granola bars contain ingredients such as oatmeal and nuts, which are natural sources of various B vitamins.
recipe for healthy granola bars
Preparation: 10 minutes
Soaking time: 10 minutes
Quantity: 15 bars
Ingredients:
- 100 g soft dates or fresh
- 100 g muesli mix or 5-grain flakes
- 100 g fine oat flakes
- 60 g nuts, seeds or almonds to taste
- 80 g agave syrup or honey/rice syrup
- 130 g almond butter (see tips)
- Toppings and spices of your choice (see tips)
Preparation:
- Pour some hot water over the dates and let them soak for about 10 minutes.
- Mix the muesli mix, the oat flakes and chopped nuts, almonds or seeds.
- Puree the dates together with a little of the soaking water in a food processor or similar until you have a fine puree.
- Stir the sweetener and nut butter until smooth. If both are too solid, simply heat them briefly. Mix with the dry ingredients and the date butter. Knead everything well.
- Refine the muesli mixture as desired (see tips). Place in a small dish lined with baking paper (max. 20 x 30 cm). Press down firmly and leave to set in the fridge.
- Cut into bars with a sharp knife.
Tips and variations:
- The basic recipe can be varied wonderfully. For example, dried chopped apricots, cranberries, dark chocolate, sultanas, apple chips, pistachios, vanilla or cinnamon go well.
- Instead of almond butter, you can also use hazelnut butter, peanut butter, cashew butter, etc.
- Normally, the bars become firm enough to cut when cooled. However, depending on the ingredients or the consistency of the date paste, they can remain a little soft. Reader tip: Bake at 175 degrees for 10-15 minutes.
- The bars will keep in the fridge for about 1 week and can be easily frozen.
